Olga Zhukovtsova on the scenes in bed: “We were laughing all the time”
Olga Zhukovtsova, the director and lead actress of the TV series Moloda, told us how they filmed the intimacy. The series Moloda, which was filmed before the Great War, has a light romantic plot. It tells the story of 40-year-old Olha’s life, which was uneventful until her husband left her for a young mistress. He also drained all their savings. A woman tries to restart her career and decides to “reset” 14 years. In her new age, she finds love – 26-year-old Dmytro. Olga Zhukovtsova and Dmitry Arkhipov played the main roles in the sitcom. And their romance was not without intimacy.

“Strange as it may seem, the funniest scenes during the filming were the ones in bed,” admits Olga Zhukovtsova, “It would seem that at a moment like this, when two naked people say tender words to each other, caress each other, you have to be serious. But these scenes at the rehearsals were very funny. We were laughing all the time.”
Prior to Moloda, Olga Zhukovtsova had no experience of filming such scenes.

“The scenes where we were rolling over under the blanket were very funny, and we had to do it in such a way that it looked like we were naked. The artists would often stop filming and pull the blanket over us so that our underwear would not be visible in the frame,” Olha recalls.
An interesting fact is that intimate scenes were filmed last.
“This was done on purpose so that the actors could get to know each other well, become close, make friends and get used to each other. I realized that their inner state would greatly affect what we would see in the frame,” says Mila Pogrebyska, the main director.
