New York changes its logo for the first time since the 1970s

New YorkThe slogan “I love New York” was coined in 1977 by Milton Glaser, the designer and founder of New York Magazine.

Now “I love New York” will be replaced with “We love New York.” The company was created by designer and art director Graham Clifford. The new logo is not focused on the entire state, but on New York City.

“We wanted the new logo to refer to the original sign, but push it in a different direction,” said the artist.

He also said that the new font was inspired by those used in the New York subway:

“The metro system is the veins or the beating heart of a city.”

However, not everyone is happy with these changes. Residents of the city believe that the new logo is “vulgar.”

“We love critics, even if they don’t like our logo. We have launched a campaign about optimism and civic action that the whole city is talking about. Now that we have attracted attention, it’s time to take action,” the creators of the campaign responded to the criticism.
