Financial assistance in Poland: what Ukrainians can get - 1 - изображение

More than 9 million Ukrainians have crossed the Ukrainian-Polish border since 24 February 2022. This was reported by the Border Guard Service of Poland on Twitter. As of 11 January 2023, the number of registered refugees from Ukraine is about 1.5 million.

Ukrainians who came to Poland have the right to count on financial assistance from the state.

One-time financial assistance

This assistance is provided to every Ukrainian who crossed the border with Poland for the first time since February 24. The allowance of PLN 300 is paid once. In order to get it, you have to:

  • Prove that you have arrived in Poland since 24 February 2022;
  • You have to make Pesel;
  • You must open an account in a Polish bank;
Family 500+

Family 500+ is one of the most popular financial assistance in Poland. To do this, you need to meet the following requirements:

  • Stay in Poland legally;
  • A mother with custody of a child who has Ukrainian citizenship but is under the age of 18 (this applies to parents and people who are not the child’s parents but have custody of the child) and arrived in Poland starting from 24 February 2022;
  • If you have custody of a child (you are its parent or temporary guardian) born in Poland to a woman who is a citizen of Ukraine and legally resides in Poland.

Financial assistance from IOM

This financial assistance is designed for people who have not yet received assistance from any organization such as the UN, IRC and others. Get Ukrainians residing in Podkarpackie, Małopolskie, Świętokrzyskie and Śląskie voivodeships can get help from IOM .
