Alina Pash presented the first single from the new album

Alina Pash

Ukrainian singer Alina Pash presented the new song “Believe” , which will be included in the new album (it will be released in 2023). The song is supported by a video, which was filmed for the singer by the director Yuriy Katynskyi.

About the birth of a song

The idea of the song was born in the air: Alina wrote the first lines on the plane, and finished the poems on a tree in the UNESCO forests in Lithuania. It was there, at the River Sound recording studio, that the single was recorded, but it was created together with Ukrainian sound producer Taras Bazeev.

About the filming of the clip

The Lviv experimental ceramics and sculpture factory was chosen as the location for the filming of the “Believe” clip. In the video, Alina tears off the white veil of oblivion from old monuments and remains surrounded by symbols of Ukraine’s past. The main monument of our history is WILL, which, despite all the enemy’s efforts to destroy us, unites Ukrainians and gives faith in the strength of our people. Valery Topal was traditionally responsible for the image of the singer.

“Faith is our mission, in which we are united, especially now. I believe that we, Ukrainians, are a big family, which now has no worse or better, Western or Eastern. And I would sincerely like this song to encourage us to look confidently into the future, despite all the difficulties, to remember and pass on to our descendants our past, our present, which we have won with blood, not to hide our eyes, to wipe away our tears and went on all together. This path of struggle, which we have chosen, is very difficult, but it definitely leads us through the thorns to the light, where we will rebuild not only ourselves, but also all those who do not want to live in the invading past. I believe”, – says Alina Pash.

Director Yuriy Katynskyi also commented on the new video work:

“Most artists of the Ukrainian stage turned their attention to folk texts and sounds only after February 24. And Alina Pash’s team has been reviving it for several years  Ukrainian authenticity in the modern context. This approach is also close to me, so I have been waiting for a joint project for a long time.  When I first found myself at the location of the music video, I felt like I was standing in the middle of a temple forgotten by people. The sculptures of angels and the Ukrainian army united in the walls of the factory create a powerful image of our identity, the national code, which in certain periods of history was hidden in backyards and gathered dust. Now these concepts are awakening with a new force, and I believe that none of us will ever allow them to become obsolete. This belief exists not only as a feeling, but also as reliable fuel for action and new change. That’s how Alina’s song sounds to me. It’s cool that our cooperation originates from this idea.”
