“Long Day”: Alan Badoev and “1+1” presented the trailer of the film

The famous director and producer Alan Badoev and the 1+1 TV channel continue working on a joint documentary called “Long Day”, which in an artistic form interprets the recent events of the war unleashed by Russia against Ukraine.
Recently, the project was presented to the European public at the Italian film and TV market MIA ( Mercato Internazionale Audiovisivo), which unites all segments of the world audiovisual industry. Director Alan Badoev and head of international distribution of 1+1 media Inna Filipova told representatives of the European TV and film industry about the project.
“At this very moment in my country, thousands of Ukrainians are risking their lives filming the documentary film “Long Day”, where every second of their lives becomes a story. Our team has processed thousands of stories: these are intimate memories of survival during the war, filmed on ordinary phones. All of them are about struggle, tears, courage, prayer.” – said Alan Badoev.
A film created by Ukrainians themselves
The project team brought with them the phones of the heroes of the film, on which they recorded all their experiences. In some places, Ukrainians took these gadgets out of the occupied territories in order to preserve and show the world evidence of Russian crimes.
“7 months ago, these phones were full of beautiful moments: weddings, children’s laughter, picnics and Tik-Tok. Today, they are full of scary pictures: rocket strikes, dead neighbors and children in tears. These are the phones of our heroes, some had to be restored, because the evacuated people had to get rid of everything in the face of the fear of the Russian filtration camps. Some of their owners were killed, but their stories remain. And they must be told.” – commented the director.
Inna Filippova, head of international distribution of 1+1 media, told the participants of MIA market what is the uniqueness of the project.
“This is a story about co-production with the whole nation, with all Ukrainians during the war. When we thought about how to recreate as accurately as possible what we experienced on the first day of a full-scale invasion, how to write this story so that we remember and you know and understand what was really happening in our country, we decided that it was best to this story was told and shown by the people who experienced it. So Ukrainians create this film themselves – their own diary.”

How to join the project
“Long Day” is a documentary story about the life, dreams and plans of Ukrainians, the last day of our peaceful life and the beginning of a new stage, which began on February 24 to the sound of bombs and sirens. This is a chronicle of the war through the eyes of Ukrainians, a reproduction of events through personal stories. The script for the picture is written every day by the people of Ukraine with their active resistance to aggression and unity.
In order to become a co-author of the documentary “Long Day”, you need to fill out a questionnaire and send video footage of episodes from your life or the life of your family on the last day before the start of the invasion. You can also submit videos showing your family (together or separately) on February 24th: the first bombs, your first reaction, your recordings during the first day, the first night, conversations. The authors encouraged to share the most poignant moments you have experienced during this war. They ask to transfer the materials without any installation.
