The eruption of the Fagradalsfjadl volcano began in Iceland
The Fagradalsfjadl volcano woke up near Iceland’s capital Reykjavik on August 3, reports the Icelandic lifestyle publication. The reason was the increase in seismic activity in the region. Last year, this volcano was active for six months.
Iceland is known as a country with high volcanic activity, and the Reykjanes peninsula, where the current eruption began, is considered a hot spot.
The eruption was expected, because last week there was a series of earthquakes that indicated the active activity of the volcano.
