5 interesting facts about the Water Police series
On April 17, at 20:00, STB TV channel launched an exciting detective series Water Police from the creators of The Trail and Blind (SPACE Production). Here are some interesting facts about the filming of the series.
“Water Police” – A 44-episode detective series about the work of a special unit of law enforcement agencies in Ukraine. The duties of the water police include not only patrolling the Dnipro water area and combating poaching, but also solving criminal offenses committed on or near the water. This team of professionals will bring everyone to the clean water.

- The team paid special attention to creating a water police base. The task was to build not just a functional office for the department, but to create the most atmospheric room that would complement the shooting on location. For this purpose, they considered ships and old vessels, but in the end they decided to use a real landing craft, which was converted to meet the needs of the Special Water Police Department, which has a morgue, interrogation room and laboratory.
- The interior of the department and the workshop of one of the water police officers are filled with real things, not fake ones: they were collected from yacht and ship owners.
- The action scenes on the water turned out to be one of the most difficult to shoot. The viewer will see chases and dives. During filming, actors often had to acquire skills in a short period of time. Since the water police officers must not only be able to swim but also feel comfortable underwater, the actors had to learn to dive. And one of these underwater shootings lasted five hours.

- The actors took an extreme driving course in a Dodge car.
“We traveled through the sands. It’s fantastic! Unreal feelings. I love driving myself, my grandfather and father have been letting me drive since I was a kid. And here, you have complete freedom: they give you a car, sand all around… And you hear: “Go ahead!”” – said actor Roman Mulenko about his impressions.
5. It’s hard to imagine a cool action movie without the work of professional stuntmen. And what is interesting is that in Water Police the audience will see an actor and a stuntman in one person. Katia Skrypko lived and worked for several years in China, where she made friends with stuntmen from Australia, Venezuela, Africa, and Ukraine.

“They work with Jackie Chan and other famous actors. I went to their training sessions and learned everything they showed me, – the actress shared. – There is a lot of filming going on in China! And soon I started getting action roles.”
Mila Rymar was another actress on the set whose extraordinary skills came in handy during the dynamic scenes.
“When I was a kid, I loved male games. I used to do Thai boxing, go to hand-to-hand combat, and visit shooting clubs with great pleasure and excitement,” she said,– she said.
The series features both well-known Ukrainian actors and young names: Oleksandr Formanchuk, Oleksandr Mavryts, Margo Balasanyan, Mila Rymar, Kateryna Skrypko and others.
