Oleksiy Sukhanov urged to support lonely animals in shelters

Alexey SukhanovOleksiy Sukhanov, host of the 1+1 Ukraine TV show “The Whole Country Speaks,” is concerned about the fate of abandoned animals. He often shares stories of lonely tails on social media, as the problem of abandoned pets has become catastrophic during the year of the great war. Every day the military and volunteers rescue furry animals from shelling in the frontline and de-occupied territories and transport them to safer regions.

Oleksiy Sukhanov and his colleagues visited one of these shelters in Kyiv. It is home to more than 90 dogs and 60 cats that were evacuated from the de-occupied Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Kherson regions. We also bring soldiers from Luhansk and Donetsk regions, including Bakhmut, every week.

Oleksiy Sukhanov and his colleagues brought the necessary items requested by the shelter: special medical food for cats and dogs, disposable diapers, napkins, gloves, and garbage bags.

“A wonderful day with those in whose hearts there is so much love! Tailed residents will help each of us feel needed, will charge us with joy, and will prove that it is quite easy to become a magician – you just need to find an hour or two for them, any day! We did it with the 1+1 team on Saturday morning,” the TV presenter wrote.

The shelter really needs help walking the dogs, so Oleksiy and his colleagues were happy to walk the tails.

“Chizh and Bela (pictured) gave me several hours of continuous positive energy, and other residents of the Kyiv shelter for ponytails gave my colleagues a lot of positive energy! The shelter “Dvor Nyashkam”, where we went, is located in Kyiv, in a residential area, where there are high-rise buildings everywhere and the locals not only don’t mind, despite the fact that the tails are sometimes quite noisy, but come to walk with them every day. On weekends, of course, there are more volunteers! Ukraine is a family of sensitive, kind, strong people! I once again thanked God that I am happy to live among people! It is with a capital letter! If you have a chance, check on the tails, too! Anywhere, because we still have a lot of shelters,” Sukhanov urged in an Instagram post.

For two years now, Oleksiy Sukhanov has had a Yorkie dog named Artie at home. The host often helps various animal shelters and never tires of urging people to be sensitive to furry animals.
