Every year on March 21, World Poetry Day is celebrated. The TV series Moloda, aired by the New Channel, tells the story of a book publishing house. Filming among the books inspired the actors to recall their favorites in literature. On the occasion of the holiday, Irma Vitovska, an actress in the TV series<\/a> Moloda, told us about her favorite poetry. Read with love with Novy Channel and Yakaboo!<\/p>\n

“I must honestly admit that over the past year I have been reading mostly professional books for my studies. I don’t have time or energy,” Irma Vitovska says frankly. “But during the war, sometimes you want something driving and rhyming. So sometimes I read poetry. I’m sharing my favorite collections with you!”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

What is the book about?<\/u><\/em><\/p>\n

The anthology includes essays, poems, and fragments of diaries by Ukrainian writers: Lina Kostenko, Sofia Andrukhovych, Yuriy Andrukhovych, Serhiy Zhadan, Lyubko Deresh, Pavlo Kazarin, and others. After February 24, 2022, a new military reality emerged in our country. This gave rise to the phenomenon of new literature. The collection not only analyzes certain events but also describes the struggle of Ukrainians for their land and independence.<\/p>\n

What is the book about?<\/u><\/em><\/p>\n

This is the first book of poetry by the author, who has already published seven prose books and one for children. The poignant collection closely intertwines the themes of love, war, sensuality, and the passage of time.<\/p>\n

Collections of contemporary Ukrainian<\/a> military poets<\/strong><\/h5>\n

“I also like the poems of Maksym Kryvtsov and Artem Polezhaka, who are currently at war. So I advise you to read their works,” Irma Vitovska adds.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Kharkiv-based poet Artem Polezhaka has published three poetry collections: “Poems about Life,” “Hanging Songs,” and “People in Search of Happiness.” After Russia’s full-scale invasion, he stood up to defend his homeland and is now serving in the National Guard of Ukraine. His call sign is Chimera.<\/p>\n

Maksym Kryvtsov, a writer from Rivne, has been writing poetry since he was a teenager. His song “The Legend of Yellow Scotch” is featured in the movie “Our Cats”. In the fall of 2014, he volunteered for the front. Kryvtsov continues to defend our country from the enemy today. His call sign is Dali.<\/p>\n
