The National Cancer Institute has launched an all-Ukrainian information project “ONCOconsciousness” to support Ukrainians in the fight against cancer.<\/p>\n
Every year in Ukraine, about 120 thousand people are diagnosed with cancer. new cases of cancer, and the mortality rate is more than 55 thousand. annually. According to the National Cancer Registry, breast cancer, lung cancer, colorectal cancer, and prostate cancer have been the most commonly diagnosed cancers in recent years. Men get sick 19% more often than women. Due to the war, the forecasts for 2023 are also disappointing, and the reasons are untimely population surveys, inaccessibility of medical care, or the inability to maintain a healthy lifestyle and avoid stress.<\/p>\n
Another reason and problem is the lack of knowledge<\/a>, awareness, and unconsciousness of Ukrainians in the issues of timely detection and treatment of cancer. Every day, patients and their relatives face a lack of professional information about cancer, and a lot of incorrect data and outright myths are spread on the Internet. And up-to-date information on modern and effective treatment methods is not always available. <\/p>\n To solve the problems of high-quality and professional information for Ukrainians, the National Cancer Institute is launching the information YouTube project<\/a> ONCOconsciousness.<\/p>\n “ONCOconsciousness” is a series of video programs in which leading experts, experienced doctors of the National Cancer Institute provide comprehensive answers to frequently asked questions from patients and their relatives, debunk myths and give useful advice. The project aims, first of all, to raise cancer awareness among the public, as well as cancer awareness among doctors.<\/p>\n
