Who will represent Ukraine at Eurovision 2023<\/strong> ? Although there is no final answer to the question at the moment, it is already known that this will be one of the almost 300 artists who presented<\/a><\/span>  384 songs for the National Selection. Is there a Victory song among them, what surprised them and did they live up to expectations? About it on the air of Radio Promin, hosted by Sasha Franko and Dmytro Zakharchenko said the<\/a><\/span> music producer<\/a> of the National Selection for “<\/strong> Eurovision-2023 “<\/strong> Dmytro Shurov<\/strong> , aka Pianoboy.<\/p>\n

Find the only one, among almost four hundred<\/h4>\n

“<\/strong> I have here large, medium speakers and two more pairs of headphones. I sit and listen. The ears and square eyes are<\/strong> already “<\/strong> burning out “<\/strong> – this is how Dmytro Shurov’s day passes, through whose ears all the songs entered for the international song contest “<\/strong> Eurovision-2023 “<\/strong> must pass. And it’s not just about the huge volume of music. Some of the songs are people’s stories about how the war changed their lives.<\/p>\n

“<\/strong> People made songs in extraordinary conditions, sometimes in bomb shelters. This is the reality of this selection. Many people are demotivated, many people are abroad, many bands simply fell apart because, for example, the frontman is now volunteering somewhere in the east, the drummer is playing on a ship somewhere on a cruise, and the backing vocalist is somewhere in Australia or a sniper. By the way, it was my dream to have more military personnel [in the National Election, – ed.], because I meet many musicians when I play for the military. But the fact is that most of them are very busy, everything is not so simple “<\/strong> , – emphasizes the music producer of the National Selection.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

On the other hand, among the applications, there is no shortage of clear re-singing \u2013 people are trying to imitate last year ‘s<\/strong> Eurovision winners .<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cThere are a lot of people who try to cut corners. There are a lot of similar requests for Kalush Orchestra<\/strong> ‘s<\/strong> Stefania on Go-A, and that’s okay because people copy what’s successful. They don’t realize one thing: if it’s already successful, you won’t be able to be successful again with it in the same way, “<\/strong> Dmytro Shurov is convinced<\/strong> .<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Therefore, he admits that he is very happy when he meets new ideas and solutions. In particular, he considers many worthy applications in English to be a positive trend of this year’s National Selection:<\/p>\n

“<\/strong> Probably because many of our singers are now abroad, they have already improved their English there and it has become more cool to sound. “<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

\u201cIt will be about 30, maybe 35 songs. Then there will be auditions and meetings with these people. They will have to sing live,” said Dmytro Shurov.<\/strong> <\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

And after that, the organizing committee will announce the names of the finalists of the National Selection. There will be ten, maximum twelve.<\/p>\n

“I want this selection to reveal new bright creative names to people and, in general, to make people feel better, to feel good about this music. But I have to say, and this is rather unexpected for me, the basis of this work is psychology, because you just have to raise musicians from some kind of bottom there, motivate them. A lot of the musicians you’ll hear on the selection, I really hope, created a song, maybe because of this selection and because of it they started making music again. That’s why I see my function in this and I’m very satisfied with it, “<\/strong> Dmytro Shurov admits.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

We will remind you that due to the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation ,<\/strong> Eurovision 2023 will<\/strong> not be held in Ukraine, although the last competition was won by the Ukrainian band Kalush Orchestra. For security reasons, the song contest will be hosted by Liverpool (Great Britain). The semi-finals will be held on May 9 and 11, and the grand final will be held on May 13.
